Abstract

In the article, the authors reveal for the first time the materials of the accounting case of Father Dmytro Kubayevich (1890–1980), a priest of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, who was repressed by the KGB authorities in 1950, and later became the pastor of the Catacomb Church. Currently, this case, which was initiated in 1950 and conducted by the Soviet state security agencies, is stored under No. 490 in the Archives of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Ternopil region (at the address of the city of Ternopil, 11 Valova St.).

The article highlights only separate fragments of the accounting case, namely four documents: the resolution on the introduction of the accounting case, the conclusion on eviction, the special settler’s certificate and the personal questionnaire of the priest Dmytro Ivanovich Kubaevich. The authors of the publication tried to preserve the authenticity of the document as much as possible when translating it from Russian into Ukrainian. The published documents contain valuable biographical information about the place of birth, address, nationality, citizenship, education, profession and specialty, family structure, social background of the deportee, and specific details about the reason for the deportation to the special settlement have been clarified.

Keywords: accounting, Soviet state security agencies, eviction, special settlement, priest, Dmytro Kubaevich, underground Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
