Abstract

The appearance of a large number of new specialties (non-engineering profile) in higher educational institutions due to a complete decrease in the number of applicants who want to receive an engineering education. The article analyzes the current state of professional training of electrical engineers at the technical university. The main competencies that an electrical engineer of specialty 7.05070103 "Electrotechnical systems of electricity consumption" should possess are defined. The components that can influence the improvement of the efficiency of the professional training of future engineers are exposition. It approach to optimizing the process of assimilation of academic material and the process of acquiring the necessary competencies for an electrical engineer is proposed, which consists in creating the most effective conditions for achieving learning goals without additional time and physical effort. Application of such an approach to the formation of students' competencies of technical specialties allows to increase the formed level of competencies. This is possible due to the selection of optimal parameters of the educational process, for example, when choosing the number of classroom classes and hours allocated for independent work of students. The derived data for optimizing the learning process using the proposed approach are the coefficients of the competence connection, indicators, parameters of educational classes, as well as general time limit. During the 2019–2020 and 2020–2021 academic years, five experimental equal groups of students (and one control group) were trained during which the parameters of the educational process were changed, provided that the total number of educational time was maintained according to the work program of the discipline. It was the basic competences were determined, which allowed by optimizing the parameters of classes, namely, some and complex questions that are submitted for independent study by students, to additionally increase the formed level of competences by 25–30%.
