Abstract

In the article attention is paid to the importance of sociocultural aspect in the process of study of foreign languages. On the basis of analysis of scientific sources an author exposes essence of the term “sociocultural competence” and the necessity of usage of all the components for the educational process is underlined. It is marked that in a structural plan sociocultural competence is the complex phenomenon and it includes the set of components from various categories. The basic factors of influence on formation and development of sociocultural competence re briefly described.
An author emphasizes on importance of culturological orientation of study of foreign languages. The further study of the offered theme will become useful at the search of new and more effective methods of teaching of foreign languages.
