Lobbying as a factor of democratic transformations: theoretical and methodological principles

Abstract

The article deals with the problem of methodological features of lobbying research, arising from conceptual approaches to the research of this phenomenon and from the principles that are fundamental to the methods of lobbying. The terms “lobbying” and “methodology of research ” have been clarified. The tasks and specifics of the methodology of lobbying research, determined by its object, are defined. It considered the key aspects of the methodology of this phenomenon research - conceptual research approaches and methods of lobbying. The basic conceptual approaches to understanding the essence of lobbying are outlined. The basic criteria for the classification of lobbying methods are defined and the corresponding classifications are considered. It is established that the main components of the methodology provide links between the two specified methodological aspects. It is concluded that taking into account the methodological specificity of lobbying research provides its correct understanding and opportunities for control and improvement of the
Institute of Lobbying.
