Abstract

The information and communication dimension of policy functioning is becoming one of the most important issues of today. The mechanisms of control and dissemination play no less important role than information itself, especially in the context of using information as a resource in solving geopolitical problems, promoting the interests of global and regional players in the territory of another country. The updating of the term misinformation is conditioned by the intensification of such confrontations in the territory of Ukraine's information space. Declining trust in classic media has led to a massive public outburst on
the Internet and an uncontrolled flow of information across social networks

In such circumstances, individuals are easily exposed to unfair information resources with the sole purpose of spreading misinformation and provoking public discontent in the middle of the country. The article deals with the main problems in the sphere of functioning of the media field of Ukraine in the conditions of the global misinformation war. Prospective mechanisms for solving the problem of information unmanageability in contemporary media are analyzed taking into account the experience of combating Russian media interference in the information space of European states.
